Water Baptism

Yesterday afternoon LifeLine had it's end of summer BBQ and pool party, and as part of the event we had our very 1st water baptism service. 2 of our family at LifeLine decided it was time to get baptized in water and show publicly their commitment to God. The backyard pool water was certainly chilly but it was a great experience and it all went very well. Karen was not only getting baptized in water but was also the host for our party. She walked in to church from the community one Sunday almost 2 years ago now with her life in turmoil and God has done amazing things in her life and still continues to as she walks with Him. Our other candidate for baptism was my 9 yr. old daughter Taylor. What a joy it was to be able to baptize my own daughter who has decided to make a public commitment to Christ. My dad baptized me when i was Taylor's age and now i got to baptize my own daughter too. Pretty sweet.
God continues to do great things at LifeLine.

A Brand New Look

Well, adding to all the other changes happening at LifeLine Church this week we've also just unveiled the new logo design and website. Not too much changed on the website, a whole new site will be coming one day, but the logo is fresh and new. Gone is the heart attack on a kite, and in is a caring friendly group of people reaching out to the community much like LifeLine itself. Check out the site and the log and let us know what u think.

Tuesdays, The New Sunday

This was the letter released to the congregation on March 22, 2009.

Since our move from the building at 391 Front Rd. last summer the pastor’s council has done 3 different polls and questionnaires regarding the time and location of our weekly gatherings. After a lot of prayer, planning, thinking, weighing various factors, and outside advice, your pastor and pastor’s council came to a decision over the past 2 weeks regarding our service times and place.

Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009 will be our final Sunday morning meeting here at Sandcastle Recreation. Over the past 10 months or so the majority of you that we have heard from and talked to said that an alternate location and alternate time would be a good choice for our weekly gathering instead of here on Sunday mornings.

As of Tuesday April 21, 2009, LifeLine Church will be holding its weekly gatherings on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm at Open Bible Fellowship Church, just down the road at the corner of Todd. Lane and Malden Road. The gathering will remain in the same style format as we are used to on Sundays and the facility at Open Bible Fellowship will provide us with more room and better facilities for fellowship times and for children’s ministry programs.

We looked at a lot of different options and times and from our studies this time and place came out as the clear choice. Tuesdays at 6:30 is the best way to meet peoples needs and not cut out any existing programs already running. Currently we are holding Celebrate Recovery on Tuesdays at 7pm, Celebrate Recovery will remain on Tuesdays but as of April 21 it will begin at 7:45pm after our regular weekly service.

Along with this move the pastor’s council has given Pastor Kevin permission to take on a part time ministry position leading worship at a church in Michigan on Sunday mornings. Kevin has been working part time at various jobs while leading LifeLine Church and this will now give him the opportunity to work in his music field and make his supplementary income a bit more enjoyable and secure. With his new additional guaranteed income this will allow Pastor Kevin to take a partial pay cut from LifeLine Church which will allow us to become more financially stable at LifeLine Church.

Be assured that Pastor Kevin’s 1st priority is still and will always be LifeLine Church and his work hours and availability to us will remain the same with the exception of Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoon and evening. Pastor Kevin has been looking for a stable part time job for 3 years we believe God has brought him this job at the right time for him and LifeLine Church.

These decisions and changes were talked and prayed about long and hard by your pastor and pastor’s council and when it came down to decision time your pastor’s council voted 100% in favour of this change that we are presenting today. Please feel free to ask Pastor Kevin or any of your pastor’s council any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,
Pastor’s Council – LifeLine Church
